You may have heard Stephanie Domet on CBC Radio One as the mainland Nova Scotia host of the afternoon drive show Mainstreet; read her work in The Coast and Halifax Magazine; seen her at the 2005 Atlantic Fringe Festival performing her one-woman show called "Cogswell!", or at the Atlantic Film Festival, performing in a film of the same name. A passionate supporter of the arts along with musician hubbie Kevin Corbett, we welcome her back to the Folk Harbour main stage.

Olga Milosevich

Olga Milosevich

Olga Milosevich is a familiar voice to listeners of CBC Radio Atlantic as the host and producer of the popular what's-going-on-in-local-arts-and-entertainment program Connections. To Festival regulars she is a familiar face and a warm wonderful welcome as a long-time returning MC and tremendous supporter of Folk Harbour. We are delighted to have Olga in Lunenburg to help us celebrate our 25th anniversary.

Shelagh Rogers

Shelagh Rogers

Shelagh Rogers is a veteran broadcast-journalist. She has hosted flagship programs for the CBC, including This Morning and Sounds Like Canada. In 2000, she won the John Drainie Award, Canada's highest broadcasting honour. She is a Champion of Mental Health and holds an honourary doctorate from the University of Western Ontario. She has been honoured for her work in reconciliation between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people. Shelagh is also a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 45, Woody Point, NL. She is currently host of "The Next Chapter" on CBC Radio devoted to writers and songwriters, and Ambassador-at- Large for the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough because she believes we are all in the same boat.

Sonny Ochs

Sonny Ochs

A perennial volunteer and long-time supporter of Folk Harbour, Sonny Ochs knows folk music. She has long hosted a radio show in Troy, NY, produces a monthly concert series in that area, and has, for the past 25 years, organized the Phil Ochs Song Nights, a tribute to her late brother. She is also a former President of Northeast Regional Folk Alliance. No celebration at Folk Harbour would be complete without Sonny!

Bev Lamb

 Bev Lamb has been hosting the weekly folk music program Touchstone on CKDU FM in Halifax since 1985. He particularly enjoys interviewing musicians, presenters, and music lovers with airwave guests from Canada, the US, and the UK. His love of folk music began as a teenager in England, hearing Ramblin' Jack Elliot records. Bev has MCed at our Bandstand location for many Folk Harbour Festivals, and is even rumoured to have slept on the stage the very first year to safeguard the gear!

Vince Morash

Vince Morash

Vince Morash is a familiar face and voice around the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival, both on stage, having performed in both solo and group settings, and behind the scenes in as one of the earliest organizers. The Boy from Peggy's Cove is a natural host for our wharf stage both for his sea-faring roots and his knowledge of the folk scene gained over his years as a prolific singer/songwriter, hosting at Halifax Harbour Folk Society and Rose and Kettle (Cole Harbour) events, and even as an actor in the local historic musical "Glimpses".

Jan Vanderhorst

Since 1981, Jan Vanderhorst has hosted Just Us Folk on CKPC-FM in Brantford Ontario , a one-hour show devoted to acoustic roots music. Just Us Folks showcases new, as well as established performers. Throughout the year Jan travels to folk festival near and far to interview performers to discuss their craft. Jan is currently serving a three-year term on the Board of Directors on the Ontario Council of Folk Festivals.

Mary Dillon

A PhD biologist and full-time mother to children Marcel and Madeline, Mary Dillon fills her volunteer time with work centred on children and as co-chair of the Festival's Education Committee along with her husband Louis Robitaille. Add all this to her love of music and she's a natural to host the Children's Stage.

Hank Middleton

Hank Middleton

After 33 years in education as a teacher and school administrator, Hank is now dedicating much of his time to music and theatre.  Hank is a prolific songwriter and has written music for The Lunenburg Dinner Theatre Company and the South Shore Players.  He is also the principal songwriter for the group, Collage, who released their debut CD, Scenes of Home in September, 2009. Hank has also penned some of the narrative, vignettes and original music for Summer Troupe who are presenting their historically based show, Glimpses for the third summer in the amphitheatre of the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic. Given his penchant for words and music, Hank is looking forward to his role as MC for the Songwriter’s Workshop.

Jeff Lohnes

As a young volunteer at the Festival, Jeff cemented his love of folk music; years later as the Festival Coordinator he began to take to the entertainment industry. While completing his commerce degree
in Halifax, Jeff began promoting music and events and has since made "the move" to Toronto to work as a speaker agent, representing many of Canada's most notable media personalities and opinion leaders. Jeff keeps close to his roots, continuing to promote east coast and traditional music in Toronto.

A freelance writer and editor, Joanne contributes a regular column about South Shore arts and entertainment happenings to the Chronicle Herald newspaper. She is also very involved in the community as the Community Relations Coordinator at Second Story Women's Centre, as well as being Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society's secretary. We are excited this year to have Joanne as an MC!

Mac McLanahan

Mac McLanahan

Mac McLanahan is a self-employed Marketing Consultant with more than 30 years in the advertising, marketing, and promotional field. He is Artistic Director and co-founder of the Rose Garden Coffeehouse, an active and successful folk music venue running continuously in Mansfield, Massachusetts since 1989. He serves on the Friends Advisory Council of WUMB radio in Boston, one of America's premiere contemporary and traditional folk music radio stations. He is on the Executive Committee of BACHA — the Boston Area Coffeehouse Association — and has served as Stage Host at a number of folk festivals and concert events including the Boston Folk Festival, The New Bedford Summerfest, the Rose Garden Coffeehouse, and the Habitat for Humanity Festival in Avon, MA.

As a musician, Mac sings and plays guitar, mandolin, and dobro. He has performed and recorded with the Boston Music Award winning John Michaels Group and still performs with friends and his wife Rae Ann as The Nashville Clippers. Mac also serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Richards Memorial Library in North Attleborough, MA, where he and Rae Ann live.

Samantha Easy & Keya Joseph

With music-loving, Folk Harbour-devoted volunteer parents, Samantha Easy grew up on the Festival, having attended for the past eight consecutive years. She has been an active volunteer with the Society including helping out at the Festival, concert series, and Folk Fiesta! A great fan of the local music scene she also enjoys playing bass guitar. A recent graduate of Park View Education Centre, Samantha will be attending McGill University in the fall.

Keya Joseph is a recent graduate of Park View Education Centre planning to attend Carleton University this fall. Keya's energy and genuine interest in contributing positively to her community have made her a keen volunteer and organizer of many school and community events. For several years she has contributed to the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society as a youth board member, including organizing the highly successful 25th Anniversary Youth Concert.
