Bill Plaskett and Friends

While often referred to as "Joel's Dad", folk artist Bill Plaskett has his own full life as a musician and a long association with Lunenburg and Folk Harbour. Bill is one of the event's founders, was a performer at the first Festival, in 1986, and has since appeared on our stages many times including with Jasmine Jones, Marilyn Inch, Jim and John Hanlon, as a member of Starb'ard Side (the Festival's unofficial "house band" for many years), with Off with their Heads, and, in 2006, with son Joel. Bill's vast knowledge of folk traditions from Great Britain and North America, and his quiet, unassuming nature make him a true friend of any folk fan
