Kim and Reggie Harris

WEBSITE
Based in upstate New York and originally from Philadelphia, this duo brings their original contemporary folk music and traditional African-American spiritual and freedom songs to Lunenburg for the first time. Their strong legacy and formal training in a full range of musical traditions have formed the basis of a respected career as performers, composers, and teachers and recordings including Steal Away: Songs of the Underground Railroad, Get On Board! Underground Railroad and Civil Rights Freedom Songs—Volume 2, and Let My People Go! The Harris' have wowed audiences at prestigious venues like the Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian Institute, and in June they performed at Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival along with Pete Seeger, Steve Earle, Buckwheat Zydeco, and Shawn Colvin.
